The League Committees

Campus Relations Committee
The Campus Relations Committee is responsible for maintaining and developing relationships and communication with each of the eight respective Ivy League current communities, which include students, faculty, administration and other.

Current initiatives include: undergraduate League (BUILD), ABAFAOILSS, Pan-Ivy Faculty Congress, League Statistics Fact Sheet, campus contacts, Summer Student Welcome event, Alumni Panels.

Communications Committee
The Communications Committee is responsible for supporting The League's administrative functions, developing its Web presence, and disseminating information via the newsletter, Web site, and listserv. Additionally, this committee is responsible for researching technology that will enhance internal and external communications. It will also work closely with the other committees as its activities either directly or indirectly affect their respective responsibilities and accomplishments.

Current initiatives include: Web Site (sub-committee), Alumni Spotlights (sub-committee), listserv, member school listservs, The League newsletter, archiving official minutes and correspondence, publicizing The League events.

Development Committee
The Development Committee is responsible for establishing a yearly resource plan, including soliciting Ivy League schools, conducting an annual campaign, and grant seeking. All activities are intended to produce income to support events and fund scholarships. It also seeks partnerships with businesses and other organizations that forward the mission. This committee, working in conjunction with all other committees, is responsible for financial record keeping, budgeting, and other monetary concerns.

Current initiatives include: seeking fundraising opportunities; researching grants, corporate gifts and sponsorships, and individual donor program; managing the annual budget, accounting, and non-profit status; and National League Liaisons (sub-committee).

Events Committee
The Events Committee is responsible for planning and executing The League events in coordination with the other committees, Commitee and Sub-Committee Chairs, and members as needed. This committee also compiles and manages The League's yearly calendar of events.

Current initiatives include: summer party, cocktail party, panels, lectures, community service events (i.e. New York Cares Day), events budget, best practices manual, contacts database.

Program Development Committee
The Program Development Committee is responsible for developing a comprehensive plan to ensure The League successfully meets its mission to have active community involvement on a local and national level. This committee will develop The League programs and liaison with local and national service organizations.

Current initiatives include: intra-league mentoring program, voter registration, community service events and programs, League want ads, League Scholarship, League Tour.

Public Relations Committee
The Public Relations Committee is responsible for increasing The League's exposure, publicizing its objectives, and highlighting its accomplishments. This committee is responsible for official correspondence.

Current initiatives include: identifying advertisement opportunities, League merchandising, press kits, branding/corporate identity development, database of local and national entities and contact information, database of press contacts for campus cities, database of press contacts for national coverage, relationships w/ campus papers, calendar of local and national events and contact information, contacts for major Black news/press.
