MPH Yale University 2000
Organization: The Budget Fashionista
Title: Chief Shopping Officer

"I'm not a size-two. I'm not a millionaire or even a thousandaire, for that matter. I'm a very normal person with a love of fashion and a lack of cash."
Kathryn "The Budget Fashionista" Finney

Kathryn "The Budget Fashionista" Finney is the shopping genius behind the blog www.thebudgetfashionista.com, TV style correspondent, author and entrepreneur. She was born in the heartland of America, where as a budding fashionista, she set fashion trends despite -30 degree weather and a Wave Noveau (a.ka. fancy Jheri curl). She moved to the east coast to attend college and after eight years as a serial shopper, budding politician, and Ivy League-educated epidemiologist, she was totally broke. She climbed herself out of debt the hard way, one payment at a time, while still managing to score a pair of Kate Spades sandals..on sale... for $13.98.

Kathryn is recognized as one of America's Smartest Shoppers and has appeared on TODAY show, FOX News, CNN, WE, and local television shows nationwide. She has been featured in publications as diverse as Redbook, Essence, Associated Press, Women's World, USA Today, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Women's Wear Daily, The New York Post, The San Francisco Chronicle and more than 60 other national and international publications.

In her spare time, Kathryn likes to crank-call credit card companies and knit. She currently lives in the New York Metro area with her husband Tobias, a growing purse collection and the spirit of Diana Vreeland. She just released her first book, How to Be a Budget Fashionista (Ballantine Books, $12.95) and will be heading out on an 11 city book tour sponsored in part by Marshalls.
