Description: Are you interested in starting or expanding your business but you need some legal help? Join the Black Ivy Alumni League for its Entrepreneurship Legal Roundtable. The audience will have the opportunity to receive advice and information from lawyers who specialize in entrepreneurship and can address a variety of topics including choice of entity, choice of jurisdiction and intellectual property issues. The roundtable will be question driven so come with any and all questions regarding you business venture.

Our Panelists:

Jorge Torres Yale Unversity '96; University of Pennsylvania ' 02 - Jorge M. Torres is an Associate in the New York office of Fish & Richardson. As a litigator, Jorge has focused his practice on representing technology, life sciences, and consumer goods companies in complex disputes concerning the rights to commercialize patented inventions. Jorge also counsels clients on intellectual property issues that arise in non-adversarial contexts, such as the investment due diligence of pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical devices companies.

Clem Turner Princeton '91; Georgetown '96 - Clem G. Turner specializes in organizing companies and facilitating deals. He utilizes his deal making experience across several industries to implement workable solutions to the myriad of problems which can hinder your company and/or derail your transaction. Over the course of his career, Clem Turner has provided counsel in corporate and entertainment transactions with an aggregate value totaling over $6.5 billion. Mr. Turner began practicing at the New York offices of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP and Brobeck, Pheleger & Harrison LLP where he provided counsel to established clients undergoing business combinations, public corporate financings and venture capital raises.

Ron Llewellyn Yale University ' 94; Unversity of Pennsylvania Law School ' 99 - Ron C. Llewellyn advises entrepreneurs and small business owners in New York City and its surrounding areas on legal issues involved in starting and growing a business. Mr. Llewellyn represents clients with respect to legal entity formation, asset purchases and sales, capital raising and other financing transactions, real estate transactions and contract negotiation. Mr. Llewellyn also advises franchisors and franchisees with respect to state and federal franchise laws and regulations, negotiates franchise agreements and advises business owners on establishing franchise systems.

Joseph Drayton University of Maryland, College Park ' 93; University of Pennsylvania Law School '97 - Mr. Drayton is an experienced attorney who has first chaired trials which includes examination of lead fact and expert witnesses. Mr. Drayton’s practice background includes a broad range of intellectual property, complex commercial and antitrust matters. He practices before both state and federal courts, as well as the International Trade Commission. Mr. Drayton also counsels clients in all aspects of intellectual property acquisition, transfer, protection and enforcement. Mr. Drayton represents leading companies in the telecommunications, banking, media, private equity, pharmaceutical, electronics and retail industries. He works on all phases of the litigation process including motion practice, discovery and trial work.
